David Agius accompanies Mr Speaker in Egypt


The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anton Tabone, is in Egypt on a four-day visit as guest of Ahmed Fathi Sourour, Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly. Mr Tabone will have talks with Dr Sourour, Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher and Amre Moussa, secretary general of the Arab League. He will pay a courtesy call on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.


The Office of the Speaker said the talks would focus on the development of "effective parliamentary diplomacy" within the Euro-Mediterranean space and cooperation between the two countries. Mr Tabone is accompanied by Nationalist MP David Agius and Labour MP Joe Mizzi.
